Cultural Experience

When I went to Italy two summers ago and me and my friends met these four Italian guys that were around the same age as we were. They didn't speak that great of English so when we talked to them we had to slow down and really enunciate what we were trying to get across to them. When we didn't want them to know what we were saying we would simply talk really fast so they couldn't catch on. Then in return they would speak Italian so we couldn't understand. The language barrier was hard to get by and understand but it was really cool to talk to someone of a different culture and background. They would tell us about there lifestyle, like the things they did for fun in Italy and school and family issues. It was a lot different from the American lifestyle.

Brother going to Iraq

Once my brother graduated from high school he instantly signed up for the National Guard. It wasn't long until he left for training down in Florida and was gone for sometime. My family and I were all hoping and praying that he wouldn't get shipped over to Iraq becuase of all the controversy going on but sure enough we got a phone call from him saying he was told he was leaving for Iraq in a few months. He said he'd be gone for about a year and a half but turned into 2 years with Bush's Extension program. My family and I went down to Florida to send him off while a big cerimony was contributed to the troops about to leave. He just got back August of 2007 and has now started schooling again.

Memory

My earliest memory was when my cousin came over and we started to play with one of my favorite Barbie dolls out of my hundreds that I had. We soon started to fight about who should get to play with her and then she stole it from me and said it was her turn. I left my room and told my mom the Erin was being mean and stole my Barbie, when I came back she had locked me out of my room and played with her for the whole day while I sat there crying!
